The following data set shows 2016 SIMD indicator data for each of the 188 data zones in Dundee City. This data set was published by the Scottish Government on their SIMD 2016 website. This website provides technical notes on the indicators captured in the SIMD as well as details on how to examine SIMD indicator data and ranks. This information can be sourced from Scottish Government - Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation and can be accessed here: https://www2.gov.scot/Topics/Statistics/SIMD

For each data zone this data set shows; •Geography •Population Data (full Population and Working Population) •Percentage and Number of People who are Income Deprived •Percentage and Number of People who are Employment Deprived •Health Data including Hospital Stays and Emergency Stays in Hospital (Standardised Ratios) •Education, Skills and Training including School Pupil Attendance and Attainment of School Leavers •Geographical Access to Services including Drive Time to GP Surgeries and Post Offices •Crime Data including Number of Recorded Crimes (Specific Crime Categories) and Crimes per 10,000 Population
•Housing Data including Number of People in Households that are Overcrowded and Number of People without Central Heating.

There are some caveats associated with this data set;

Missing data In some data zones, the population in the considered age range is zero for some years. In these cases, a rate cannot be determined. This is denoted by ''. Crime counts smaller than three were suppressed. This too is denoted by ''.

Standardised ratios A value of 100 is the Scotland average for a population with the same age and sex profile.
